![]() I didn't sense any heat while I was zeroing the scope again, but I was not shooting that much and there was a lot of downtime while I checked targets and what not. I picked up a 15" model for my 18" barrel. So its a valid question regardless of your snarky non-technical response. Its an important factor when you will be running your gun a lot. Some get hot to the touch almost immediately and some do very well at sinking heat away. ![]() It has been reported and tested that various free float hand guards react differently to sustained fire. If heat is that big of a concern then don't use metal handguards, or shoot less. Just like every other slim aluminum rail/tube out there.
